Carolina Cartons - Valued Ally!

I received this message from Carolina Cartons. While we wait to have the FSC laws repealed, I recommend them as an option for all smokers that refuse to smoke FSC.

David,

I added your link to our website.

We are one of the only places left online to purchase NON FSC cigarettes. Many of our customers have signed your petition, I recognize many of the names. We include your link in emails to our customers from time to time as well. I hope it helps. I created a logo for your link as well.

Feel free to use it for any link exchange you would like. I have attached it in this email.

Here is the link to your link on our site:
http://www.carolinacartons.com/selfcigs_008.htm

We would appreciate you letting folks know that we can still supply them with NON FSC cigarettes for most all brands.

Thanks,

Rob

Unfortunately, I recieved a carton of NON-FSC MARKED cigarettes (Marlboro Smooth) from Carolina Cartons that were actually FSC. I don't believe this is their fault. Wisconsin hasn't switched over yet (i live in MN) but when I went there they are "transitioning" and so I purchased a fresh NON-FSC marked carton that when opened contained FSC. When I say that they were unmarked, I don't just mean the carton, I mean every box inside it too. I am one of the people who are having a severe allergic reaction to whatever is in the FSC, making my tongue swell and giving me a rash as well as making my vision blur tremendously. I think that unless you find some old cigarettes, TRUE NON-FSC are gone. These cigarettes have banded papers. I bought unmarked ones in WI and now online that are supposed to be NON but are FSC. I think this is UNAMERICAN!! I am severely addicted to a product that is now illegal. I cannot smoke FSC. Please spread the word... Carolina Cartons may have had NON-FSC before, or still may for other brands, but what I received in the mail made me sick, and my body doesn't lie (they also had banded papers, I was hoping that somehow these were earlier papers so I tried one, but alas. Another 50 dollars wasted trying to find ACTUAL cigarettes.) Again, to reiterate, I don't think this is Carolina Cartons fault. I think the companies are shipping FSC in non-FSC because it costs more i am sure to have two separate lines running. Most likely they are using up old stock packaging.

I recieved a carton of Marlboro Blend No. 27s from Carolina Cartons that was both marked NON-FSC and actually was NON-FSC. This last poster must have developed an allergy to smoking in general because the non fire safes I got are GLORIOUS. (They are EXTREMELY fresh btw.)

lydz I agree with you...I too, received fsc cigs in unmarked packs but not from carolina cartons, just from my local Pa. area a year ago and had the same allergic reactions and more. Immediatly knew they were fscs.I had smoked salem lights for over 30 yrs, but right away realized big brother slipped me another mickey.. ,I now roll my own and am in the process of trying to quit period...BTW you didnt happen to have a compromised immune system too, did you ?? I was thinking perhaps it makes us more vunlerable with the fsc paper (carpet glue and mothballs)?Ive done my homework on this crap. This truly is unamerican and unacceptable. They really need to go back to the drawing board on this one and someone needs to be held accountable ...

at the time of this post I did not know I had an autoimmune disorder, Celiac Disease. I have had pretty bad allergies (food, seasonal, dust, pollen) and asthma. That being said, with all that, the poisons from my regular ol' NON-FSC Marlboros never gave me more than a regular smokers cough. But I could smoke em till the cows came home if I wanted without even the slightest bodily reaction. I love (what used to be) cigarettes. I was absolutely addicted to the NON-FSC Marlboros and know that whatever chemicals (of which there are MANY) that used to be in those (R.I.P.) cigs did nothing but make me more addicted. I loved them and would have been a customer for at good long while I imagine... especially since I am sober and have cigs and coffee as my primary vices. I was never, ever, ever, sick from cigarettes for 15 years of smoking. I switched brands- smoked Marlboro Reds for a few years, Camel Wides for one, Parliament lights for at least 6 or 7, and then as soon as the smooths hit the market I was smoking them non-stop. They were my absolute favorite.
So, in my original post I didn't yet know that I had been living with Celiac Disease for most of my life- from around age 5- and that it has nothing to do with allergies, but does give you a compromised immune system. 1 out of 133 people in the US have Celiac- but only 2% are diagnosed. There are many, many autoimmune and immune disorders that could have made me sensitive... unfortunately I had so much small intestine damage my body went into complete failure and malnutrition. This happened over the course of fall- sept-dec 09. So if I according to biopsies I have had the disease from around the age of 5, and I am 29 now. That means that from age 14 to 29 I HAD Celiac AND smoked about a half a pack or up to a pack a day without any reaction. THERE IS SOMETHING MAKING EVERYONE ILL IN THE NEW FIRE SAFE CIGS... PEOPLE WITH COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEMS MAY JUST BE THE ONLY ONES VULNERABLE IMMEDIATELY. BUT OVER TIME I BELIEVE THE REACTIONS WILL BE THE SAME FOR EVERYONE.

So now I have been rolling my own for about 5-6 months... and while it certainly isn't what I want to do- its better than 1. being severely ill 2. quitting smoking 3. using the pharmaceutical companies to "help" me get off nicotine. This would be the same as buying cigarettes- what I mean is they are all in it together. I won't be surprised when the other remedy i've found- the electronic cigarette (a few different brands)- gets pulled off the market. It may somehow have to be put through some FDA wringer in order to legitimize it or some other scam, but suddenly it will be off the market. I won't be surprised. Simply because it is helping people quit big tobacco. Seriously. They do not advertise as aids to quit and have very careful legalese to make sure that they don't emphasize using their products to quit... but I've had about 20 friends already quit this way. Better than the (rash)Patch, or the (expensive/disgusting) gum, or worse yet- the horrible nauseating tease that the Nicotrol Inhaler dispenses along with an extreme sore throat and LUNG PROBLEMS!!
All this, and I would still smoke a non-fsc in a heartbeat. I crave them everyday and feel it is my right to have a cigarette just like a gun or alcohol (I don't hunt or drink, so you can see why I cling so tightly to my cigarettes). Everyone needs to broaden their perspective as to what this is really about. More and more people will get sick, sicker than before- and in different ways- and this FSC will be to blame. I wish I could have my cigarettes back now. This is, as I said before, Unamerican. Plus, I used to be a pretty good customer... if I count as a customer they wouldn't want to lose me. But they think I will be a customer in the front of the store (cigarettes) or in the back of the store (pharmaceuticals)- and as such they feel they have nothing to lose i'm sure. MY LAST POST WAS NOT ABOUT CAROLINA CARTONS! I THINK THEY WERE DOING WHAT WAS RIGHT WITH OR WITHOUT KNOWLEGE- AKA SHIPPING CARTONS THAT WERE NOT MARKED FSC... as I said before, just like the AROUND 25 (add it up!) NON-FSC cartons I have bought in Wisconsin, Iowa, and online... the cigarettes are just wolves in sheeps clothing. and CAROLINA CARTONS COULD NEVER BE BLAMED FOR THAT! Plus you can tell when you open them- they smell like jet fuel. They have banded papers. They don't smoke correctly. and most of all they make ash fall all over you when you have to keep relighting... its not like I didn't try to smoke the FSC when they came to my town! I tried until I couldn't possibly try anymore. Alas, capitalists always ruin capitalism.

Hi everyone! I too am very allergic to this new FSC cigarette. I have no immune disorders that I know of, but am rh negative blood type which means there is a chemical in these cigs that are toxic to us. So if you are rh neg and smoking these things consider rolling your own or quitting smoking.

lydz I agree with your comments.I too, have an electronic cig and I like it ,but I beleive they will try to ban them. I am on chantix now...and only smoked 8 ryo cigs in 5 days and im tryin to wean myself off the ryo for its only a matter of time before they stick the carpet glue and mothball crap in the tobacco and tubes....at least we may find out beforehand and not get so sick. THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET AND EVERYDAY PEOPLE LIKE US TO SPREAD THE WORD ON THE POISON OUR GOVEERMENT IS NOW SUBJECTING US TO...lydz or ANY CAFSC or LAWYER WHO WANTS TO TALK FSC JUST EMAIL ME AT midnite167@yahoo.com

These are side effects from fsc after only 6 weeks include bad cough, bad headaches, numbness in limbs, chest pains, aniexty attacks, blurred vision, sores in mouth, sore throat, seriously I felt like I was being poisoned on a daily basis, and the saddest part is THEY ARE NOT FIRE SAFE..........

lydz said...

Everyone who has commented so far, thank god the Internet exists so we can form a community. I am so sorry to hear about more and more people having the horrible reactions that these FSC gave me almost a year ago. I felt truly poisoned, and I knew that because of the shame smokers feel and the press that cigarettes (FS or NONFSC) have received, that I couldn't explain to anyone that I was being TRULY poisoned!I kept trying to explain to people and all I ever heard was "Cigarettes ARE poison! We've been telling you that for years.. we are glad you are finally feeling the effects of the poison you have been smoking all along". Never doubt the power of language! This has been proven to me over and over again in so many areas of my life. It was a great move to silence us so that when we did start talking about the new cigarettes and how they are poisoning us, given that the media, smokers, and non-smokers have for calling cigarettes "poison" years before smoking bans and FSC. I also got the "I hope you are finally getting sick enough to quit!" from my family. When I talk to people about how it just doesn't add up- how can creating this new cigarette REALLY be about safety, and if it WAS why it's OBVIOUS that its the wrong tool to "fix" that problem- they go into never never land soapbox mode.

lydz said...

As if BECAUSE I'm a smoker I shouldn't be allowed to think critically and question my government (one of the most patriotic things I can do- that's why it's a democracy!). By soapbox mode I mean they say "Good. Well even if there ARE more chemicals I hope it makes more people quit- those companies are killing people no matter what chemicals they add or take away". Unfortunately this completely ignores the fact that this is an addictive product- making it more harmful doesn't make you more likely to quit. I have an aunt and a cousin that smoke 2 cartons a week each- they notice that their cigarettes are different... they say they are "coughing a bit more"... but there is NO WAY they are quitting. And they will certainly not be quitting because of the FSC change. In fact they have mentioned that they smoke MORE now. How sick will they have to get in order for them to quit? No one cares because "smokers choose their fate when they smoke" or "cancer sticks are cancer sticks". If the intended effect was to make people quit, we wouldn't be in the minority talking about it on the Internet... we would be in the smokers break 2x2 gated designated area after lunch complaining about how "these new cigarettes suck" (heard it from friends and family), because that is how I've seen most people i know react.

lydz said...

Quitting doesn't even enter into it unless they HAVE to. Like what me and many others are trying to do. Actively trying to get nicotine that isn't making us ill is NOT EASY. Rolling my own American Spirits in the clear 100% cellulose papers is not my idea of fun. And Chantix now has the FDA extra super bold warning that it didn't have before- one step down from the "black box" highest warning they give on SSRIs that cause suicidal ideation. Doctors are warned and told not to prescribe with any history of mental health or depression in their health background. That's a lot of people. Not to mention that since it debuted on the market Chantix has had an extraordinarily high rate of people being allergic to it! I imagine I might be, if I took it. But I won't. I'm one of the many people who were under the age of 18 when prescribed SSRIs BEFORE the black box warning came out. I am not risking permanently altering my brain chemistry again. I hope that Chantix does work for the people it works for, just like I do with all pharmaceuticals. I need medicine every day just like millions of other people in the world so I'm not just preaching against Big Pharma OR Big Tobacco. This all seems bigger and more multi-faceted than I can understand.

As you can see, i have been trying desperately to connect the dots. I am sorry again for the physical reactions so many people have been sharing. I know they give you a strange feeling not to mention the physical illness. It's very good to talk with informed, regular Americans who know they are being lied to. And I don't think its some sort of conspiracy either- I know its about appeasing lobbyists and settling just to keep a product on the market blahblahblah- but if it was just about the bottom line it wouldn't add up. Frustrated today! Probably need a cigarette/e-cig haha. Best of luck to all! And thank you for agreeing with me and seeing the storm that HAS to be coming regarding e-cigs. That's my biggest fear right now, as it's the only thing helping me quit!

I have tried to quit smoking, due to the fsc paper. I haven't suffered from any side effects, other then a sore throat, and basic nasty taste. I went on a cruise in Nov. 2009 and bought 10 cartons of Marlboro lights that were non fsc. I have come to the conclusion that i will have to take a cruise every few months, in order to smoke what I like. So how much is this going to cost me ? more money then I would like to admit. Will my spouse agree to this insane plan ? well of course not. So I guess what I am really saying is that unless I can find a way to buy cigs in Mexico or the Caribbean, I too will have to suffer the effects of this nasty fsc paper that is probably killing us a little faster then the regular paper. Who came up with this supposed better paper, and why weren't we informed before hand ?

Is it true that they are finally listening and are pulling the fsc from the shelves? I have heard from 2 people now that they are. Maybe they have finally figured out what a dumb ass idea they had.

FSC or fire safe cigarette laws were passed state by state using deception and misinformation. FSC cigarettes greatly increase health risks for smokers. Smoking-related fires have actually increased for smokers in New York, the first state to pass the law. I don't think just he is going to refuse but almost all smokers are against FSC as they are no more safe and ca be really dangerous. It's better to go for any other cigarettes rather than going for FSC.

I nearly died yesterday from FSC Marlboro Lights, 100s. My face swelled up to the size of a Mellon. My eyes swelled shut and my lips looked like inner-tubes. I do have video evidence of all this. I've been itching and breaking out in severe rashes for 2 months. I've had several bouts with swelling of the face, lips and eyes. Yesterday was the worst. It nearly killed me. I went out and threw the two packs I had in the trash and haven't smoked since. My face is returning to normal size but my right eye is still closed. Thank you Marlboro Lights. You've cured me from smoking. I will never touch a cigarette again. Cigarette smoking was suppose to kill us SLOWLY.....not in one day after only two.
I'm cured. For anyone that wants to see my video of my HORRIBLE looking face...please ask. I'll send it to you.
It's really bad.

Betty the Ford a 95 Escort wagon I have purchased. I did not paid much for that piece. The wagon has only 65,000 miles and the deal promise me the engine will last for long.
I had to spent $1000 for some body parts since I had it . It’s almost 2 years I bought it. I also insured it well its not also of much but still I have it.
Now I am interested in buying new car but want to pay $1000 per two years rather than paying annual.
Thinking to sell my car for down payment. Some of the customers I experienced for my old car advised me to keep it as to buy new cheap car is not good if you have a good one.
